MR. CHAN Sophal is currently Director of the Centre for Policy Studies (CPS), a Cambodian think tank providing research and consulting services in the areas of macroeconomics, agriculture, private sector development and natural resource management. Prior to this, he served as Director of Policy and Enabling Environment and Deputy Chief of Party of USAID’s Food Security Program called Cambodia HARVEST (2011-2014). Mr. Chan has 25 years of progressive professional experience, mostly in analytical work with research institute (Cambodia Development Resource Institute - CDRI), international agencies (World Bank and UNWFP), private sector (Leopard Capital and Fintrac Inc.), and Cambodian government (Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries). He has written and published many research reports and journal articles at CDRI and other institutions. Mr Chan received an MSc in Agricultural Economics from the University of London, Imperial College at Wye, United Kingdom, in 2000.
Choon has been living & working in Cambodia for nearly 20 years, & holds numerous senior management positions in companies within the textiles & related industries over the period. He is currently TST Group’s Cambodia General Manager. He has been an EXCO member of the GMAC since 2007, & regularly representing the association on various conferences both within Cambodia, as well as overseas.
Dr. Richard Marshall
Country Economist at UNDP Cambodia
Dr. Richard Marshall been the Country Economist at UNDP Cambodia since June 2017. He is responsible for UNDP’s analytical and policy work on economic issues, and for providing support and advice to its projects and interventions. He leads UNDP’s policy work Industry 4.0, which is focused on equipping Cambodia to adopt and adapt new technologies and manage the associated economic transition.
He joined UNDP in 2002 and has also served in the Mongolia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bangladesh and Viet Nam Country Offices. His work has involved a long engagement with development planning and economic policymaking. He hails from the United Kingdom and holds a PhD in Economics and master’s degree in Development Economics from the University of Manchester.
Cambodia Development Resource Institute (CDRI)
Mr Sim Sokcheng is a research fellow and head of the Agriculture Unit, Cambodia Development Resource Institute (CDRI). He has experiences in quantitative and qualitative research with a focus on agriculture, food security, rural livelihood and rural development, and economic development. Mr. Sim Sokcheng is a Ph.D. candidate and hold a Master’s degree in Economics majoring in Development Economics from Kobe University, Japan. He is experienced in leading many research projects, including programme impact evaluation, policy research projects, particularly research survey with rural farmers.
Mr. K. Shri Raajkhaanth
